SAULT STE. MARIE — Jan. 10, 2024: The Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre is pleased to announce the appointment of Marie Alexander to the position of director of Acorn Information Solutions, the dynamic technology program within the innovation centre. Marie is bringing two decades of expertise in computer programming and geographic information systems (GIS) to her leadership role.
Marie began her career as an intern, working her way up to her most recent position, director of software solutions and licenced products. In this capacity, she managed software projects for large clients demonstrating her proficiency in delivering tailored solutions.
Over her 24-year tenure with Acorn Information Solutions, Marie’s dedication and commitment to the work she does in our community is truly commendable. Her proficiency in GIS and software development has established her as an influencer in the industry.
In addition to her professional achievements, Marie has devoted time to shaping the next generation of computer programmers at Sault College. While not only mentoring aspiring IT professionals, Marie also champions opportunities for women in technology.
