Engineering firm promotes Matt Weaver to chief of project delivery and Sue Howson to manager of project delivery

SUDBURY & TIMMINS — Sept. 8, 2022: J.L. Richards & Associates Limited (JLR) is pleased to announce the appointment of two of its key employees into leadership positions within the firm.

JLR congratulates Matt Weaver, P.Eng., PMP, FEC, on his appointment to chief of project delivery. As the former manager, project delivery, Weaver brings 15 years of electrical engineering and technical project management experience to the role. Weaver is an effective leader of large technical teams and is talented at solving complex management and technical challenges. He will oversee the robust project management, proposal, marketing and communications, and design technology teams.

“Matt’s approachable and collaborative management style is an asset in advancing JLR’s business development, marketing, and project delivery methodologies,” says Saverio Parrotta, JLR's CEO and president. “He’s been part of project delivery since its infancy at JLR. He has the proven track record of managing people and delivering complex projects to fruition.”

JLR is also proud to announce the appointment of Sue Howson to manager of project delivery. Howson will oversee a team of project managers, project coordinators, and project administrators. She previously held the role of senior project manager.

“I’m blessed to work at JLR — I love the team and collaborative atmosphere of the firm, and the commitment to clients,” says Howson. “In my new role, I want to build on the existing foundation of the department and further develop tools and processes to enhance project delivery at JLR.”

Howson brings close to 30 years of related experience in architectural, construction, project management, estimating, health and safety, and teaching. She has managed building maintenance projects, educational, commercial and industrial construction projects, renovation projects as well as implemented and developed health and safety policies and programs. Her experience in managing staff dispersed across several locations is an asset as JLR’s seven offices are spread across Ontario.

“Sue is a recognized name in the industry and has received accolades for her analysis, problem-solving, and leadership skills — qualities that are an asset to JLR,” says Parrotta. “Her combined years of experience and strong skillset makes her the perfect choice to manage the project delivery team.”
