SAULT STE. MARIE — May 19, 2023: Health & Safety Professionals Inc. (HSPI), a leading provider of health and safety solutions in Northern Ontario, is thrilled to share its latest achievements, partnerships, and business expansion. With a strong commitment to supporting Northern Ontario businesses, HSPI continues to pave the way for enhanced workplace safety and growth opportunities.

HSPI was honoured to receive the Safe Work Sound Business Award at the 2022 Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce Business Achievement Awards. This recognition highlights HSPI's dedication to promoting workplace safety and providing effective health and safety solutions to businesses across Northern Ontario.

In addition, HSPI has partnered with the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development along with Ontario’s safety partners to offer the Health and Safety Representative (HSR) Basic Training eLearning program. This partnership aims to empower small businesses across Ontario to train their HSRs under Ontario’s Small Business Health and Safety Training Program. Workplaces that regularly employ six to 19 workers need an HSR. Workplaces can train their HSRs for free until March 31, 2024. Eligible employers receive their registration fee plus up to $150 to pay for wages. Through this partnership, HSPI reaffirms its commitment to fostering a culture of safety in workplaces across the province.

Ontario’s chief prevention officer has granted approval to HSPI for their Joint Health and Safety Committee Certification Part One eLearning course. The team at HSPI took up the challenge of developing and designing an eLearning course and were successful in getting the course approved from the ministry. With this addition, HSPI can provide workplaces across Ontario with a more convenient solution to train their Joint Health and Safety Committees. HSPI continues to demonstrate its commitment to delivering in-class, online, and now eLearning JHSC training.

HSPI proudly announces the addition of a new full-time staff member to its growing team. The new hire is a dedicated occupational health and safety advisor. The individual initially joined HSPI through the NOHFC internship program, and their exceptional performance during the internship led to their permanent employment. This valuable addition further strengthens HSPI's capabilities and enables the company to better serve its customers.

HSPI is excited to highlight its collaboration with the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre. Through this partnership, HSPI secured funding to develop its JHSC Part One eLearning course and redesign its website. These funding initiatives reflect HSPI's commitment to fostering innovation, enhancing its online presence, and providing customized solutions to Northern Ontario businesses. HSPI encourages other small businesses in the region to explore these funding opportunities to support their growth.

“We are thrilled with the recent achievements and growth of Health & Safety Professionals Inc.,” said Louise Caicco Tett, president of HSPI. “These milestones highlight our dedication to promoting workplace safety, delivering high-quality training programs, supporting the success of businesses across Northern Ontario, and employing young professionals.
