Pele Mountain Resources and Goldcorp are reactivating their joint venture Festival project near Wawa.

Detour Gold announced May 21 that it has entered into an agreement with a syndicate of underwriters, led by BMO Capital Markets, in buying 17,500,000 common shares of the company in order to raise $153 million. The offering closes June 11.

AurCrest Gold announced May 22 that it has received a government-issued exploration permit for its Richardson Lake gold discovery in the Birch-Uchi belt located between the Pickle Lake and Red Lake Gold camps.

Kirkland Lake Gold reported higher gold production in its fourth quarter following upgrades at its Macassa mine. In a May 14 release, the company reported production increased by 46 per cent (31 503 ounces) in its third quarter (21, 601 ounces).
