The Gogama Chamber of Commerce is looking to make more of a professional mark in the community by moving into new quarters in the small hamlet of 550 residents, located about 100 kilometres south of Timmins.

A private-public partnership deal signed June 5 in Chapleau is being heralded as a major step forward in developing new economic opportunities.

The Town of Cochrane has been granted $950,000 under the Superbuild Fund towards the construction of the Cochrane Event Centre, which will include an arena, swimming pool and meeting room.
