Three northwestern Ontario airports have received almost $7 million from the federal government for safety improvement projects.
The projects include:
• $2.3 million for the Kenora airport to repave the runway, realign the taxiway, reconfigure the apron and purchase a new snowplow.
• $1.9 million to repave the runway and upgrade lighting at Red Lake Municipal Airport.
• $2.4 million to construct a second taxiway, upgrade lighting and construct a new airfield electrical centre at Sioux Lookout Municipal Airport.
