Innovation shines in Thunder Bay

More than 150 people attended the Northwestern Ontario Innovation Centre’s ninth annual RBC Innovation Awards luncheon in Thunder Bay, May 18.

The event celebrates and recognizes innovative companies and individuals in the region.

Gridlink was named Innovative Company of the Year.

The Innovation Hero of the Year Award went to Dr. Alla Reznik of Lakehead University

The George Jeffrey Children's Centre’s While You Wait project was selected as the Innovative Project of the Year.

The Young Innovator of the Year Award went to Bradley Momberg and Kyle Rodrigues of Redox.

David Stezenko was named Advisor of the Year.

“Once again we are excited to recognize and celebrate the outstanding innovation taking place in northwestern Ontario,” said innovation centre manager Judy Sander in a news release.

“Twenty five nominations were received from around our region representing diverse companies, projects, heroes, advisors and youth. These awards are a reminder of the vibrant innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem present in this region.”
