A Texas real estate developer specializing in shopping centres and entertainment complexes has expressed interest in Thunder Bay's Portside project. The developer met with city officials in October to gather information on the project. The company, with offices in the Rio Grande Valley near Mexico, developed one of the first multi-screen movie theatres in the United States. They are now concentrating on developments in mid-market sized cities with a population between 100,000 and 250,000. The Portside project has been stalled since the city broke off negotiations three months ago Thunder Bay Waterfront Developments Inc.
