Influential Women award winners from northeastern Ontario were recognized today during a Sudbury ceremony at the Radisson Hotel. The event was hosted by Northern Ontario Business and Union Gas.

Bill Lautenbach, Greater Sudbury’s general manager of growth and development, has received the prestigious Green Champion Award by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM).

Dick DeStefano, executive director of the Sudbury Area Mining Supply and Services Association ( SAMSSA ), is being acknowledged by CollègeBoréal for his contribution to the area’s economic development.

CN has donated 20,000 trees to be planted in the Sudbury community of Coniston. The initiative is a partnership between CN, Tree Canada and the City of Greater Sudbury to enhance the city’s ongoing regreening efforts.
