The province is providing $1.9 million for two film productions that were filmed in Sault Ste. Marie.

P23 Entertainment Inc. received $1 million in Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corp. (NOHFC) funding (a $500,000 loan and a $500,000 grant) for their film project The Masked Saint, a feature-length motion picture based on the autobiography of Chris Whaley, a southern Baptist minister and former professional wrestler.

Paragraph Pictures Inc. received $905,200 in NOHFC funding (a $452,600 loan and a $452,600 grant) for their film project, Happily Ever After, which completed filming in Sault Ste. Marie in early November. This film centres around a documentary filmmaker forced to return to her hometown when her father becomes ill.

Since 2005, the NOHFC has provided more than $50 million to more than 80 film and television projects.
