Vancouver’s Pure Gold Mining has started a 9,000-metre exploration drilling campaign at its Madsen Gold Project in Red Lake.
The company announced Aug. 7 that the $4-million program was to commence in mid-August with the aim of testing and expanding key exploration targets in the camp.
“We are excited to launch our 2014 drill program as we begin to test targets developed through our ‘proof of concept’ exploration model,” said company president-CEO Darin Labrenz in a statement.
“Initial drilling is designed to increase the mineral resource and will test near surface targets along the 12-kilometre Madsen Trend. Drilling will expand to test highly prospective targets generated from early exploration activity with a goal of discovering new zones of high-grade mineralization along the 10 km-long ultramafic contact.”
The program will be focused on near-surface step out drilling around the high-grade mineralization in the Madsen Mine Trend, along with drilling at the McVeigh Ramp, Fork Zone, Junction, Point and other high-priority targets its property.
