Women in Mining Canada is seeking nominations for its annual Trailblazer Award, which recognizes women’s contributions to mining.
Nominations are open to women who hold Canadian citizenship at the time of their accomplishments and can be awarded posthumously.
Nominators must provide evidence of their candidate’s achievements that demonstrate benefits to the Canadian mineral industry. More importantly, nominators must illustrate the candidate’s trailblazing character by describing examples of their pioneering spirit throughout their personal careers.
Past winners of the Trailblazer Award, which was inaugurated in 2012, include MaryAnn Mihychuk, a professional geologist with more than 30 years of expertise in the mineral sector; Samantha Espley, general manager of Vale's mines and mill technical services division for its Ontario operations; and Maureen Jensen, executive director and CAO of the Ontario Securities Commission.
The deadline for nominations is Jan 7.
