The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency is asking for public feedback on the Magino Gold project near Dubreuilville in northeastern Ontario.

It's part of the draft environmental impact statement guidelines under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012.

The project is undergoing a federal environmental assessment and the agency is inviting comment on what aspects of the environmental may be affected by the proposed mine.

Prodigy Gold wants to revive the once-operating Magino Gold mine, located 14 kilometres south-east of the town of Dubreuilville. The project involves construction, operation, and eventual decommissioning, and abandonment of an open-pit mine and metal mill.

Mining operations would over seven to eight years with an ore production capacity of 30,000 tonnes per day. An on-site metal mill would have an input capacity of 15,000 tonnes per day and will operate for approximately 15 years.

Written comments must be submitted by October 3. For details go online at www.ceaa-acee.gc.ca.
