Fire reported at Vale’s Clarabelle Mill in Sudbury

Vale has confirmed a fire broke out at its Clarabelle Mill in Copper Cliff (Sudbury) this morning. Greater Sudbury Fire Services (GSFS) were called out to the site at 9:15 a.m. this morning and remain on scene.

Vale spokesperson Angie Robson said in a statement that all employees have been accounted for. There has been no word on how the fire will impact production at the mill.

GSFS said in a statement that the fire is not considered a safety concern for citizens or traffic at this time.
