AurCrest Gold announced May 22 that it has received a government-issued exploration permit for its Richardson Lake gold discovery in the Birch-Uchi belt located between the Pickle Lake and Red Lake Gold camps.

The three-year permit covers up to 6,000 metres of diamond drilling, airborne and surface geophysics, sampling and mapping.

“This marks the beginning of the second stage of assessing our highly prospective gold discovery,” said Ian Brodie-Brown, president & CEO. “AurCrest has a strong First Nation partnership, 9.9 per cent of the outstanding shares of the company having been purchased by the Lac Seul First Nation.”

The company said it has First Nation representation on its board of directors and continues ongoing discussions with other key First Nations in the area.

The Richardson Lake property is located 10 kilometres north of Gold Canyon's Springpole Lake discovery and 110 kilometres east of Red Lake.
