It’ll be a great summer for Aecon Construction and Materials.
The Toronto-based contractor landed a trio of provincial highway improvements valued at $34.5 million.
The Ministry of Northern Development and Mines announced March 21 that Aecon has been handed the job to repave 30 kilometres of Highway 17 near Wawa along with 2.2 kilometres of Highway 101 near the Highway 17 junction.
Culverts at Speckled Trout Creek and at the Agawa River Overflow on Highway 17 are also up for repair. That contract alone is worth $23.9 million.
On Highway 65, Aecon is repaving 15 kilometres of Highway 65, east of Matachewan, south of Highway 66 junction. The culvert at Whiskey Jack Creek is also due to be replaced. The contract is valued $4.9 million.
Work on these three projects will begin this spring and is expected to be completed by fall 2017.
