Sudbury's Crosscut Distillery has won seven medals during the 2023 Canadian Artisan Spirit Competition.

Hosted by Artisan Distillers Canada, the annual event grades artisan spirits, bitters, and zero-proof spirits based on quality of submissions.

Crosscut earned three golds, for its Triple Grain Vodka, Clockwork 4 Grain Whisky, and Quartermaster 100% Rye Whisky; three silvers, for its Local Harvest Gin, Cut & Dry Gin, and Barrel Aged Aquavit; and a bronze for its Cherry Gin.

Last year, the business brought home four medals from the competition, including a gold, two silvers, and a bronze.

Launched in 2017, the distillery is situated in an industrial area of the city's West End alongside two breweries.

It's known for infusing its spirits with local ingredients, and for producing unique specialty spirits including peppered-bacon vodka and haskap and rhubarb gin.
