Wind power firm holding Sudbury turbine talks

With the intention to build two mid-sized wind turbines in Sudbury, the Gore Bay-based Canadian Shield Wind Power is hosting a pair of public information sessions on Aug. 25, 2009. The afternoon session, held at the Knight's Inn, will run from 2 p.m.

 
With the intention to build two mid-sized wind turbines in Sudbury, the Gore Bay-based Canadian Shield Wind Power is hosting a pair of public information sessions on Aug. 25, 2009.

The afternoon session, held at the Knight's Inn, will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., while the evening session will be held at Dynamic Earth from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Projects details and environmental assessment results will be unveiled, along with other information regarding the two 1.65-megawatt(MW) turbines to be established by the Big Nickel and near Highway 69 North.

The company's plan is to eventually produce up to 250 MW of wind power throughout Northern Ontario.
