Prodigy Gold said it is on schedule with its plans to revive the dormant Magino Mine near Wawa, and put it back into production by 2015.

In a Feb. 8 release, the Vancouver junior miner said it plans to submit formal permitting documents, containing its project description, to the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines early next year with the hope of beginning construction of an open pit mine in 2014.

Prodigy expects the feasibility study of its Magino gold mine project will be finished by year's end.

The company has a gold resource containing more than 2.1 million ounces indicated, grading 1.00 grams per tonne, and more than 1.7 million ounces inferred with a cut off grade of 0.35 grams per tonne gold.

Magino is estimated to have an 11-year life with an annual output of 249,300 ounces.

Formal consultations with area First Nations are still ongoing as are environmental baseline studies.

Drilling has been continuing on the property since mid-January with six diamond drill rigs expected to be running shortly. It will allow Prodigy to complete its 60,000 metres of definition drilling of the resource as well as do further expansion drilling.

The company said this should allow them to expand the scope of the feasibility study to include the added drilling without delaying their timelines.
