With Ontario Power Generation (OPG) set to potentially become the biggest user of biomass, officials are slated to speak about the role of this resource in the future of electricity on Aug. 20, from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Days Inn & Convention Centre.
The discussion will be spearheaded by Chris Young, vice-president of fossil projects at Ontario Power Generation. Young is responsible for co-ordinating major projects at operating fossil plants, which includes the biomass program. He is also tasked with overseeing OPG's involvement in the development of new fossil-fueled generation.
Ontario Power Generation has a generating portfolio whose capacity exceeds 20,000 megawatts, making it one of the largest power generators in North America.
