Timmins' businesses honoured

Seventeen of Timmins’ businesses, entrepreneurs and organizations were recognized at the 2012 Nova Business Excellence Awards, held at the McIntyre Arena on April 12.

Seventeen of Timmins’ businesses, entrepreneurs and organizations were recognized at the 2012 Nova Business Excellence Awards, held at the McIntyre Arena on April 12.

Hosted by the Timmins Chamber of Commerce for the 10th consecutive year, the gala event drew its biggest crowd yet, with nearly 600 attendees on hand to celebrate the achievements of the region’s business community.

The evening’s award recipients were selected from among more than 100 nominations by a team of six independent community judges.

“Timmins is a community that takes considerable pride in its achievers, and it’s easy to see from the astounding list of Nova Awards nominees and recipients that there’s certainly no shortage of those,” said Christine Leclair, president of the Timmins Chamber of Commerce. “Ours is a city of great strength and resilience, something that’s clear from the many great businesses on display throughout the 2012 Nova Awards. This is a group well worth celebrating, and we certainly want to thank everyone for their interest and participation.”
