Thunder Bay's Venshore Mechanical Ltd. has taken the wraps off two new fuel off-loading modules built for a client in the oil sands of western Canada.
At 30-feet long by 16-feet wide, the 30,000-pound module is used to meter and filter fuel before transferring it to a delivery vehicle. Other local firms contributed to the construction of the modules, including Coastal Steel, which provided the structural steel.
Venshore is a member of the Thunder Bay Oil Sands Consortium, a 22-member public/private-sector partnership established in early 2007 designed to better capitalize on commercial opportunities in western Canada.
