The Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce held its 18th annual business awards gala, May 5, at the Valhalla Inn.
The Thunder Bay International Airports Authority took home two awards with the Business Excellence Award for large companies, along with the Commitment of Quality Awards, which it shared with the Victoria Inn Hotel and Convention Centre.

The Post Secondary Enterpreneurial Spirit Award: Willow Lem
In accepting her award in the medium-sized company category (7-25 employees), Take A Hike owner Diane Petryna acknowledged the on-going support of her independently-owned outdoor store by employees, customers and the community. Her company won a chamber award nine years ago for small firms in the 1-6 employee category and she suggested she'll be back in another decade. “By then, we'll be ready to pick our award in the large-sized business category.”
