The Northwestern Ontario Innovation Centre in Thunder Bay announced it has been selected the join the Microsoft BizSpark Program as a network partner.
The program is designed to accelerate the success of early stage start-up companies by connecting them to network partners who can provide mentorship, guidance and resources.
“The Northwestern Ontario Innovation Centre is pleased to have Microsoft as a partner allowing our start-up companies to leverage world class development tools to provide our clients with a solid foundation on which to build their business on,” said Nick Kolobutin, the centre's commercialization specialist, in an Aug. 3 release.
To be eligible for the program, startups must be engaged in development of a software-based product or service that is a core piece of its business model, it must have been in business less than three years, and have less than $1 million in annual revenue.
