Bot Construction Group of Oakville has landed the contract to four-lane a section of Highway 69.
The Ministry of Northern Development and Mines said the nine-kilometre stretch between Highway 64 and Murdock River will create as many as 570 jobs.
Bot begins work sometime this summer and will finish in 2016.
The value of the contract was not released, as is ministry policy in its news releases.
“Since 2005, our government has invested significantly in expansion projects that are making Sudbury's dream of a four-laned highway a reality,” said Sudbury MPP and Northern Development and Mines Minister Rick Bartolucci. “With two construction projects awarded this year, we are well on our way to providing residents and industry with a safer, more efficient highway that will promote economic development within the entire region.”
