Sudbury chamber nets provincial awards

The Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce has received a pair of awards from the Ontario Chamber of Commerce .

The Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce has received a pair of awards from the Ontario Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber received the Chair’s Award for hosting the Greater Sudbury Today and Tomorrow event, which brought together leading minds in the mining, innovation and post-secondary sectors. The Chair’s Award celebrates the extraordinary efforts within the chamber/board network, recognizing excellence in operations, member services and community leadership.

The Advocacy Award was bestowed for the chamber’s work with the city to reduce bureaucracy at city hall. The Advocacy Award recognizes the extraordinary policy-related efforts within the chamber/board network.

To be recognized with these awards by your peers is truly an honour,” chair Mark Weiman said in a news release. “It solidifies that the hard work and dedication the chamber puts into to advancing issues in our community is recognized as a model for others throughout the network.”
