The Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce has elected its chair and executive council for the 2012-2013 term.
The council includes chair Mark Weiman,
first-vice chair Ene Querney, second-vice chair David Boyce and
treasurer Daniel Giroux.
“It is an exciting time of the year
for us,” Debbi Nicholson, president and CEO, said in a news
release. “We have an excellent mixture of directors with
perspectives that will help the organization maintain a focus on the
issues affecting our members.”
The chamber is governed by a 17-member
volunteer board of directors. Each member of the board volunteers
their expertise, time and knowledge, reflecting a broad cross-section
of the local business community. The board consists of elected
directors, serving two-year terms, and appointed directors, serving
one-year terms. A term on the chamber’s board of directors runs
from July 1 to June 30 of the following year.
“These individuals
are committed to improving our business community and I’m looking
forward to working with them to advance the concerns of our members
to various levels of government and other public and private sector
organizations,” Nicholson said.
