Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation (EDC) has restructured to add a new senior staffer.
The organization announced July 14 that Dave Murphy will head up a new Business Sault Ste. Marie Division of the corporation.
Murphy has extensive experience on staff with the Ministry of Northern Development Mines and Forestry. He holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
In a news release, the EDC said the newly merged division will make the corporation a more efficient organization.
The EDC now consist of three divisions with Business Sault Ste. Marie, Tourism Sault Ste. Marie and Corporate Services.
CEO Bruce Strapp said adding Murphy as an executive director adds value to their programs and services with his 25 years in economic development.
"Our clients will have much to gain in working with the EDC and this new knowledge base."
