Soo Foundry and Machine Ltd. was a double winner at the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce annual general meeting and awards luncheon, Oct. 1.
The company took home the chamber's Business Development Award given to a business that demonstrates job creation and growth, along with the Safe Work, Business Award recognizing a business that employs safe work management practices and training.

John Martella of Green Cycle Environmental Recycling received the Skipper Manzutti Award for Business Achievement
and Bill Shepherd of Bruce Street Storage received the Volunteer of the Year Award.
Algoma's Water Tower Inn was named recipient of the Paul Dalseg Award recognizing a businessperson or professional who has demonstrated leadership and community-mindedness of businesspersons and professionals.
The chamber's own Ambassador Corps received the President's Award recognizing exceptional service above and beyond the call of duty.
Algoma Telephone Systems Inc. was presented with the Entrepreneur/Business of the Year Award for their growth in the telecommunications and security fields.
City Meat Market received the Marketing Award for a business demonstrating superior and novel marketing strategy to attract repeat business.
Soo Mill Buildall was presented with the Customer Service Award.
Essar Steel Algoma grabbed the Environment Award honour their efforts to reduce pollution and introduce new environmental technology.
Marnie Stone of Stone's Office Supply received the Athena Award given to an individual recognizing their service to assisting women in attainment of their professional goals and leadership skills.
