Resolute Forest Products (formerly AbitibiBowater) is extending its shutdown of its paper machines at its Fort Frances until the end of January.
The Montreal-based forestry company blamed poor market conditions in November for the remainder of this year. A company spokesman told a Fort Frances newspaper that the paper-making operations, as well as the kraft mill will be shut down for January, and will be restarted if market conditions improve.
The shutdown affects 300 employees.
