Schneider Power has inked a 20-year power purchase agreement with Ontario Power Authority (OPA) for energy produced by a wind farm near North Bay.
The 10-megawatt Trout Creek Wind Project will be producing power by 2012.
The wind farm will be 40 kilometres south of North Bay.
The deal was signed under Ontario's Feed-in-Tariff program and will create 40 construction jobs and three permanent jobs.
Schneider Power's President Thomas Schneider said the agreement with OPA is an important step in the company's efforts to increase its renewable energy portfolio.
"This project is a good example of developing renewable energy resources in remote parts of our province."
