The Kirkland Lake gold camp continues to be a hotbed of activity as Queenston Mining Inc. and Newstrike Resources Ltd. continue to add a series of claims to their Commodore joint venture.

As part of the addendum to the joint venture partnership, Newstrike will contribute six patented mineral claims known as the Morris claims, while Queenston will contribute seven patented mineral claims and four unpatented claims. In exchange Newstrike will issue 600,000 common shares to Queenston.

The combined property now covers a length of seven kilometres, and the deal remains subject to regulatory approval.

A first phase of exploration, worth $530,000, will begin in September with line cutting and diamond drilling. Eighteen holes will be drilled, for a total of 3,800 metres.
