The merger between Prophecy Platinum Corp. and Ursa Major Minerals was completed on July 16.
Prophecy, a mineral exploration company focused on developing platinum group metals (PGM) and nickel sulphide projects, has projects in the Yukon, Manitoba, Argentina and Uruguay.
With the acquisition of Ursa Major, Prophecy can now add to its portfolio the nickel-copper-PGM Shakespeare Mine, located near Webbwood, 70 km west of Sudbury.
Operations at the Shakespeare site ceased early this year after the expiration of the mine’s processing agreement with Xstrata Nickel on Dec. 31, and a pending deal with Prophecy was announced shortly afterwards.
