Thunder Bay Mayor Lynn Peterson has been re-elected to the 2009-2010 board of directors of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) at its 110th Annual Conference in Ottawa. Peterson was re-elected chair of the Large Urban Caucus.
“I am thrilled to return in this leadership position and continue bringing the voice of a large urban, Northern community to the table as AMO works with the government in municipal policy development,” said Peterson in an Aug. 25 statement.
AMO represents Ontario's 445 municipal governments and promotes the value of the municipal level of government as a vital and essential component of Canada's political systems.
