A big chunk of federal funding delivered to Parry Sound will go toward expanding municipal infrastructure for the new branch campus of Canadore College announced earlier this summer.
Parry Sound-Muskoka MP and Industry Minister Tony Clement tapped into the government's Community Adjustment Fund to invest more than $1.8 million into his riding. Parry Sound gets $1.29 million to accommodate construction of the new 10,000-foot-space campus.
The remainder is earmarked to Niigon Technologies ($500,000) to assist the Moose Deer Point First Nation company in improving energy efficiency at its manufacturing processes. The West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation ($27,500) is using their funds toward a FedNor youth intern.
