Since creating its Export Market Access (EMA) program in 2008, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce has spread $1 million across more than 100 companies to assist with diversification of exports.
The funding allows for the development of international direct contacts and tools for these new foreign markets. It also allows for market research to be conducted.
Recipients range from manufacturing to technical trades and services, and are located throughout the province, including Sault Ste. Marie, Kitchener, London, Ottawa and the GTA.
The program, funded by the province, is still accepting applications. Criteria for eligibility include annual sales of $500,000 or more, and having been a registered company for a minimum of two years, among others.
