The money will be used to fund further planning for the school, which would be the first of its kind in Canada in more than 40 years.

The planning stage will involve developing curriculum and opening a project office.  It is expected to create three full-time jobs, including positions for a business development officer, a project manager, and an administrative assistant.

A feasibility study completed for the project in 2008 identified the school as potentially being a 75,000-square-foot facility, to be built in downtown Sudbury at a cost of $35 million.
