The installation of a new culvert at Caribus Lake near Atikokan will improve road safety on Highway 11.
The Ministry of Northern Development and Mines said the replacement of a culvert with a new one will reduce maintenance costs and improve highway conditions.
LH North of Murillo was awarded the $1.4-million contract. Works begins in June and finishes by fall. The project creates 10 jobs.
“Local residential, commercial and industrial users will benefit from our investment in replacing culverts and bridges and building modern structures,” said Thunder Bay-Atikokan MPP Bill Mauro in a statement.
