Northern Gold Mining Inc., whose Garrison property sits 40 kilometres north of Kirkland Lake, has announced the appointment of Michael P. Gross as vice-president of exploration.
Gross has 40 years of experience in all areas of mineral exploration and mine development, including operational analysis, financial modelling, mine management, and mining operations.
He currently also serves as vice-president of exploration for Freegold Ventures Ltd., a gold exploration company with advanced programs in Alaska.
His prior roles include vice-president of exploration for Nayarit Gold Inc., chief operating officer of Regis Resources Inc., and vice-president of operations for Exall Resources Ltd., to name a few.
Gross' efforts will largely be focused on advancing the exploration program at the Garrison property.
“With his extensive exploration and mining experience, proven track record, and knowledge of the Timmins Gold Camp, Mike is an invaluable addition to head up our technical team,” said Martin Shefsky, president and CEO, in a release.
