The exploration industry now has access to 13 more trained workers through the newest graduating class of Northern College's surface diamond driller assistant common core training program.
This marks the fifth graduating class for the program since it began in 2007.
Students in the program are given work placement opportunities with top drilling companies, which this year included work near Kirkland Lake, Timmins and Geraldton with Cabo Drilling (Ontario) Corp, Board Longyear, and Bradley Bros.
Students are also evaluated by an independent auditor, Canadian Driller Training, to ensure they meet training standards as set out by government and industry.
The next round of the program will run from October 12 to December 17, and will be delivered in Kirkland Lake.
