Northern College first-year enrolment growth tops in Ontario

Northern College has seen a 47-per-cent increase in its first-year enrolment for the fall semester, the highest such increase among all Ontario colleges. The average increase in college confirmations over last year is seven per cent province-wide.

The average increase in college confirmations over last year is seven per cent province-wide.

The Haileybury campus has a 46-per-cent increase in first-year enrolment, while the Kirkland Lake campus has a 31-per-cent increase and the Porcupine (Timmins) campus has a 51 per cent increase.

"We have noted an increase in younger students coming to our Haileybury and Porcupine campuses directly from high school," said Fred Gibbons, Northern College president, in a release.
