A replacement has been found for Northern College's outgoing president, with acting president Fred Gibbons being officially appointed to the role after filling in for the last six months.
Replacing outgoing president Michael Hill, Gibbons becomes the school's seventh president after working for Northern College in various roles for 14 years. He has served as executive regional director, principal of the Haileybury School of Mines, among others.
Gibbons has also previously served as a consultant for municipal and provincial governments, and is currently working on a doctoral degree in business administration through California Coast University.
He is also leading the Porcupine Campus expansion campaign which will add a Trades and Technology Centre as well as a Centre for Excellence for Health and Emergency Services.
