Noront begins negotiations with First Nation

 
Noront Resources Ltd. (TSX:NOT) has entered into negotiations with Marten Falls First Nation for an exploration agreement.

The intent of the exploration agreement is to develop a framework for exploration work while respecting the land, environment and First Nation traditional pursuits.

There has been extensive consultation between the parties and it is anticipated that this agreement will be concluded in the near future, according to a Noront news release.

The agreement follows the Historical Compensation Agreement, arrived at with Noront Resources in March 2009, where Marten Falls First Nation was compensated for past work performed on its traditional lands by Noront, in the Ring of Fire located in the James Bay Lowlands of Northern Ontario.
