Less than a year after having moved into its new Innovation and Commercialization Centre last winter, the Northern Centre for Advanced Technology (NORCAT) is already adding 5,000 square feet to accommodate three companies.

The move will help support future business development and create as many as 10 new jobs.

The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation is providing $1 million to the project through its Infrastructure and Community Development Program.

The 60,000-square-foot, $10.6-million centre provides industrial lab space, high-speed Internet and other amenities for businesses and entrepreneurs seeking development and testing, on a fee-for-service basis.
