The City of Timmins and Northern Ontario Business will be rolling out the red carpet on October 4th, to meet and greet the best and brightest risks takers and success stories across the region.

We are excited that over 500 attendees will be piling into your community, an unbelievable number for the economy, that will undoubtedly spill over into area hotels and restaurants. The awards were last held in Timmins in 2007.

The strength of the awards applications are often a stepping stone for those firms and individuals to gain wider national and international recognition.

The event will feature ten winners along with the Union Gas essay scholarship winner.

"NOBA really is the Academy Awards of Northern Ontario," said Patricia Mills, publisher of Northern Ontario Business. "Being a black-tie celebration of the North's entrepreneurial elite, it is also a back-slapping gathering of the region's business, community development and political 'movers and shakers.' This is the gathering place they come to once a year to meet old friends, but it's also an event where professional bonds and relationships are created. I know of million dollar deals that happened at NOBA or successful business partnerships that have formed."

The Welcoming Reception will be held at the Timmins Museum (National Exhibition Centre) on Wednesday October 3rd from 5:30 – 7:30 pm, and on Thursday, October 4th, the Awards Gala Dinner at 6:30 will be celebrated at the McIntyre Curling Club in Schumacher.

"I am pleased that the City of Timmins has been chosen to host this year’s event and the timing is perfect seeing we are celebrating our 100th anniversary," added Mayor Tom Laughren. "Over the last year we have paid tribute to individuals we felt should be recognized, community builders…miners, forestry giants…business entrepreneurs and professional and service personnel that have excelled and inspired the rest of us to reach for new heights and this is what the NOBA awards embody as well."

Thank you to our 2012 sponsors, without your help we would not be able to produce this program, year after year.

Individual tickets are $169.50 and corporate tables of 8 are $1356.00. (HST included)

The price includes the welcoming reception, pre-gala reception, gala dinner with wine, awards ceremony and post gala reception.
