Michael Winship has been named the new chief operating officer for Quadra FNX Mining Ltd., which has operating mines from Sudbury to Nevada.
Winship previously served as president and COO with Hudbay Minerals, as well as senior vice-president and COO of PT International Nickel Tbk.
He worked for Vale Inco from 2000 to 2007, where he eventually served as vice-president of mining and milling, and was responsible for seven nickel-copper-PGM mines and central processing milling operations in Sudbury.
Prior to that, he worked as general manager for a number of Placer Dome operations, including the Dome Mine in Timmins and the Campbell Mine in Red Lake.
Winship takes over from outgoing COO Jack Miller, who has retired.
