Contact North, Northern Ontario’s distance education and training network, reported significant increases in the number of course registrations supported and courses offered during the winter 2009 academic semester.
The number of course registrations increased by 11 per cent to 5,709, while the number of courses offered by colleges, universities and school boards increased by 13 per cent to 325. In addition, Contact North supported 755 registrations in literacy courses and training sessions during the same period, representing a 57 per cent increase from winter 2008. This is the second year Contact North has seen an increase in registrations.
