Nominations are now being accepted for the Minister's Awards for Apprenticeship Training.
The annual awards recognize 16 employers from the four regions of the province—northern, eastern, western, central—for their excellence in apprenticeship training. From the 16 finalists, four regional winners are chosen to be honoured at a ceremony in the spring.
Eligible employers include those who currently train apprentices who have not received the award within the last five years. Anyone can nominate an employer.
Judging will be based on criteria including a consistency in employing and training apprentices and journeymen, a focus on hiring youth, and the formation of partnerships with other organizations with a focus on expanding apprenticeship opportunities.
The deadline for nominations is Feb. 29.
