Miners, researchers and innovators from around the world are gathering in Sudbury this week for the sixth International Conference & Exhibition on Mass Mining (MassMin).
This marks the first time the conference, held June 10-14 at Laurentian University, has taken place in Canada. Previous locations have included the U.S., South Africa, Australia, Chile and Sweden.
The theme of this year’s conference is Advancing the State-of-the-Art in Mass Mining. It will bring together researchers, engineers and practitioners to present the latest accomplishments, innovations and potential future directions in mass mining and its accomplishments around the world.
The aim of MassMin is to facilitate close dialogue among experts on issues relating to research, technological development and the application of mass mining around the world. The conference promotes strong interactions between academic and industry in all the aspects of the technology.
