Mine shaft repaired

St Andrew Goldfields has repaired the damage to its Holt Mine shaft and normal operations have resumed.

On the afternoon of Feb. 19, a shaft incident occurred at the Holt Mine, located east of Matheson, while skipping waste to surface. Initial reports indicate that the skip door became unlatched and opened while the skip was in motion, damaging approximately 100 metres of shaft timber. No employees were injured in the incident.

The operations at the Holloway Mine, Hislop Mine and Holt Mill were not affected by the incident.
